About Youth Sports

All Youth Programs:

  • Practice once a week

  • Play one game a week on Saturday

  • Play games and practice at the same facility

Registration

All registrations are done on a first come, first served basis. The registration time indicated is the beginning of the registration period. Registration remains open for two weeks after the registration date as long as spaces are available. Registrations will be taken after this two week period if spaces are still available – a $20 late fee will be added to the regular cost of the program. Members of Clairmont Presbyterian Church and people involved in one of the sports programs at the time of registration may register early. Although Clairmont makes every effort to ensure that past participants receive information pertaining to registration we can not guarantee that you will be notified. Keep checking here to be sure not to miss a registration date.

How are Teams Chosen?

We strive to make the teams at Clairmont Presbyterian Church as evenly matched as possible. In order to do so we have a skills assessment night planned that each child needs to attend. After the scores are tallied from this skills assessment children are assigned to teams – divided evenly according to score.

What if my child has a friend he/she wants to be with?

We believe very strongly in community at Clairmont Presbyterian Church so we believe that our program offers your child the experience to make new friends. We understand that your child may not feel comfortable playing without their friend, but we ask that you talk to them about making new friends. In order to make teams even we cannot take requests for friends to be together.

How are Practice times Assigned?

Practice times depend on the team that your child is placed on. The night that coaches divide up the teams they also establish a practice night for each team. After teams have been established coaches call the players and let them know what night they are scheduled to practice.

What if I can not practice on the assigned night?

We ask on the skills assessment night if there is one night that your child can not practice. We limit it to only one night. If your child is assigned a practice time that he/she cannot make, you will need to let your coach know right away. Your coach will then contact the Director of Activities Ministry and every attempt will be make to work something out. If nothing can be worked out the Activities Ministry will refund your money.
